Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing everyday administrative help to a state procurement division, including managing the bid room, handling inventory, greeting visitors at the front desk, registering suppliers, and offering general support.

It requires keeping accurate records and delivering friendly service to colleagues and outside contacts while using good judgment on policies.

A good fit would be someone organized with office experience, especially in dealing with vendors or customers, and comfortable with basic computer tasks.

  • High school diploma plus directly related work experience (bachelor's degree can substitute for experience)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • At least 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, vendor relations, or customer support

  • Discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures
  • Experience with government procurement or vendor management (preferred)

Full Job Description

TWO POSITIONS

Provides administrative support for the Division of Procurement Services (DPS) including bid room operations, non-capital inventory and asset management, front desk/reception, supplier registration and general administrative support needs.

Maintain accurate records and provides prompt and courteous services to all internal and external stakeholders.
Require individual discretion in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures within specified area.

Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel
2 + years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, vendor relations, or customer support.
Experience with government procurement or vendor management is a plus.
