About Our Agency:
South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.

Job Purpose:
Under limited supervision of the Chief Technology Officer plans and directs the administrative support activities of the Engineering and IT departments including preparing and maintaining records required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Aviation Administration, and the agency inventory system, coordinating purchasing and procurement activities, delivering high-level customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Duties:
Responsible for planning and organizing the routine administrative activities of the Engineering, & IT Departments which includes screening calls; processing incoming and outgoing mail, managing calendars; making travel arrangements for Engineering & IT personnel; making meeting and conference arrangements; controlling incoming and outgoing documents, maintaining files; maintaining office inventory.

Regularly review records required by the FCC and the South Carolina Department of Administration, and other entities. Update FCC Rules & Regulations manual for the Engineering Department. Maintain FCC Public Inspection File online and paper file.

Prepares all non-technical reports for Engineering & IT such as FCC Ownership, Annual Employment, etc. Communicate and work with outside counsel and other staff to complete required reports.

Report and follows-up on problems to Maintenance, Master Control, and IT. Provide liaison between engineering personnel, supervisors, various other ETV Staff and the public as necessary.

Provide customer service by answering trouble calls from viewers/listeners and forward calls requiring follow-up to appropriate staff and keep records of correspondence.

Coordinate and assist with purchasing and procurement processes for the departments by entering shopping cart requests in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) for management approval. Monitor shopping cart process, forward vendor purchase orders, complete goods receipts and other activities related to the purchasing and procurement process for acquiring goods and services. Utilize Microsoft Excel to track and monitor departmental budgets and for various projects

Make travel arrangements for engineering and IT personnel. Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Technology Officer

Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Qualifications

Associate degree and 5 years of experience in clerical/office management setting or bachelor's degree and two years of experience or any combination of the above.
