The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Non-Permanent Administrative Assistant 3 at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.

Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900 bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula.

It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody Incarcerated Individuals.

CBCC also operates a Restricted Housing Unit.


Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State Department of Corrections professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all Incarcerated Individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.

Requirements

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate Operational Memorandum (OM) revisions with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Seek clarification from Headquarters (HQ) Policy Office during the revision process.
  • Coordinate urgent revisions to OM when the facility has procedural changes within policy guidelines.
  • Produce final draft and submit to HQ for approval.
  • Update Emergency Management Cabinet's information quarterly: manuals 1-3 and flash drive.
  • Maintain monthly training, rosters, and member files for all specialty teams.
  • Track quarterly fire drills, monthly emergency management preparedness drills and monthly functional drills.
  • Provide reports for audits.
  • Create and update facility forms.
  • Maintain site apps and permissions.
  • Track tort claims.
  • Submit investigated claims to the Associate Superintendent of Operations and Security for approval and signature.
  • Track and respond to Incarcerated Individual's kites/kiosk messages to see Correctional Industries (CI) Optical.
  • Place Incarcerated Individuals on the call out.
  • Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS) documentation and filing.
  • Administrate Support for the Associate Superintendent of Operations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent.
AND
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
    • Formal education may substitute year-for-year for the required experience.
