Apply for this Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Department of Education, Food & Nutrition/Child Nutrition Program’s Administrative & Technical Support team.
With us, you will help program sponsors, program staff, and field services staff by the providing information and assistance they need to complete work accurately and in a timely manner, as well as provide support to internal teams with various reports.

In this position, you will provide administrative support for the Bureau of Food & Nutrition staff in the area of administrative pre-reviews for School Nutrition Programs (SNP) and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
This includes communicating information, providing technical assistance, and completing reports.
Responsibilities involve processing broadcast emails, communicating directly with program and field staff to provide technical assistance navigating forms and completing fields in each document, tracking correspondence, and proactive follow up about discrepancies and deadlines.
You will be reviewing documentation provided by sponsors for accuracy and completeness, analyzing this information to determine if it is valid and in compliance with federal regulations, validating claims, determining if claims for reimbursement are valid or if additional action is needed, and tracking all correspondence.
Our team will also rely on you to assist and oversee updates to guidelines and procedures.
This includes participating in meetings, assessing the impact of federal guidance or regulation changes on Pennsylvania policies and procedures, routinely assessing processes for efficiency, and making recommendations to streamline processes.
Work involves responsibility for a variety of monthly, annual, and longer-term reports to support these assessments, the development of effective recommendations, and other division functions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to four days per week. Staff is currently required to report to the office on Thursday each week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
