As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will serve as the Travel Coordinator for the agency, therefore you must maintain a current and comprehensive working knowledge of Commonwealth Travel policies (MD 230.10 and Manual M230.1), reimbursement processes, and Out Service Training MD 535.3.
Duties will entail analyzing agency travel operations, policies, and procedures; coordinating with agency staff to analyze and understand current exceptions to travel policies; and reviewing and making recommendations for agency travel policies.
You will be further tasked with creating and distributing travel training materials, and providing training and support to agency personnel.
Additional duties will involve researching, reviewing, and analyzing all travel expenditures, running monthly travel reports, and completing financial transactions and expenditure adjustments in SAP according to travel budget needs and necessary changes.
You will also be responsible for the appropriate use of the Commonwealth Purchasing Card (PCARD), maintaining knowledge and adherence to Commonwealth procurement and purchase card policies and procedures.
Another primary focus of this position is administering the agency inventory program. This involves administering the agency database consisting of inventory items maintained per current agency policy.
You will maintain the inventory database and software with regards to equipment purchased with federal funding and accurately record equipment received and disposed of.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the training period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
