Requirements

In this position, you will oversee the smooth and effective functioning of the Fire Company Emergency Service Grant Program (FCEMSGP) while also supporting administrative tasks for other programs within the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC).

Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of the FCEMSGP, which allocates $30 million annually to fire, rescue, and EMS organizations across the state.

You will review and approve grant applications, offer technical assistance for applicants, and evaluate grant agreements.

Additionally, you will audit final reports to ensure proper accounting of the funds awarded through the grants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • FREE on-site parking
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of a training period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience in emergency services such as volunteer or career employment in the fire service, emergency medical services, or police departments
  • Experience in assisting an emergency service organization such as fire, emergency medical, or police department on obtaining any type of funding, such as grants or loans
  • Experience in the administration of grant or loan programs, such as reviewing any type of grant or loan applications
