The Administrative Assistant role in the Office of the State Fire Commissioner involves supporting fire departments with grant and loan applications, reviewing necessary documents, and collaborating with a team to ensure that funding reaches emergency service organizations efficiently.

In this position, you will oversee the smooth and effective functioning of the Fire Company Emergency Service Grant Program (FCEMSGP) while also supporting administrative tasks for other programs within the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC).
Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of the FCEMSGP, which allocates $30 million annually to fire, rescue, and EMS organizations across the state.
You will review and approve grant applications, offer technical assistance for applicants, and evaluate grant agreements.
Additionally, you will audit final reports to ensure proper accounting of the funds awarded through the grants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of a training period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
