This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Central Office, 400 Otarre Parkway Cayce, SC 29033.

As the Accountant-Fiscal Analyst, under general supervision, you will perform paraprofessional accounting duties, which include reconciling revenue posting between SCEIS and the subsystems revenue posted to. You will also analyze expenditure and revenue data, prepare journal entries and vouchers for corrections, additions, and reimbursements to the accounts as it pertains to the monthly reconciliation process.

Responsibilities for the Accountant-Fiscal Analyst include:

Complete the monthly reconciliations between SCEIS revenue postings for outpatient insurance revenue activity and the C1S billing system,which post revenue by patient for the 16 outpatient mental health centers.

Complete reconciliations of the Telepsychiatry and Care Coordination revenues between SCEIS and CIS billing system.

  • Prepare journal entries and vouchers for corrections, additions, and reimbursements to the accounts as it pertains to the monthly reconciliation
    process.
  • Track agency cash and donated funds balances.
  • Prepare journal entries to allocate debt Set-off and GEAR revenue received from Department of Revenue to the appropriate facilities.
  • Requirements

    • A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.

    Qualifications

    • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

    Additional Information

    Post hire, employees must:
    • Have knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, budgeting, or financial management.
    • Have knowledge of EDP systems and modern office practices and procedures.
    • Be able to proficiently apply mathematical concepts, analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports.
    • Be able to analyze financial documentation for accuracy and completeness.
    • Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate effectively with DMH personnel and other agencies, in person, by telephone and in written form.
    • Be able to operate a 10-key calculator and personal computer. Must be able to use Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets involving complex excel formulas.
