This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center Tri-County Crisis Stabilization Unit 3685 Rivers Ave #302, North Charleston, SC 29405.

Responsibilities for the Counselor II:

• Provide quality person centered care.
• Perform PCH functions of this position in an efficient manner.
• Collaboration and teamwork.
• Retain overall responsibility for meeting QA standards.
• Comply with all Corporate Compliance, Cultural Competency policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations. Attends all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations and Center policy.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.

Additional Requirements:

• This position is considered essential and may require reporting for duty in the event of weather or similar emergency events.

Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Additional Information

Post hire, employees must:

• Have working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services
• Have considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting.
• Have working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.
• Be able to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.

Available Shift:

3.00 PM- 11:00 PM
