In addition, we provide critical community services through a variety of programs, and at our four State Veterans Homes located in Orting, Port Orchard, Spokane, and Walla Walla.
These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.
As a Nursing Assistant Certified, you'll assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care. You'll have the ability to lend direction and a caring attitude to your patients.Assist residents with positioning, transferring and ambulation; ensure a safe and secure work environment, including preventative infection control methods.Respond to call lights, internal and external emergencies, and facility codes.Record care, vital signs and observations.Assist residents with personal clothing, belongings and equipment; bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, etc.Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel; motion exercises as needed.Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake/output records.Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotions, collecting specimens, etc.And more!
Qualifications Required:A combination of education and experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis. Experience must be relevant to the position.
Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning services and every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks.
Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
