This job is for a full-time cook at a Washington state veterans' home, where you'll help prepare lunch and dinner meals for about 350 residents, staff, and visitors, including special modified diets.
You'll work early morning shifts from Sunday to Thursday, focusing on safe food handling, quality control, and keeping the kitchen clean.
It's a great fit for someone with basic cooking experience who wants to serve veterans in a supportive team environment.

Our team is excited to announce an open position for a full-time Cook 1 at the Washington Veterans Home in scenic Port Orchard, Washington! Apply early, as there is only one (1) vacancy currently available!
Please Note:The expected hours for this position are 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday. Incumbent may be required to work involuntary overtime.
12 months experience in large scale food preparation or cooking, completion of course work, and/or military training in large scale food service preparation may be substituted month for month.

Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning services and every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks.
Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
