Join our team as an on-call Licensed Practical Nurse 2 and make a meaningful impact serving our residents!
In this role, you will deliver compassionate, resident-centered care to our residents at the Washington Soldiers Home in scenic Orting, Washington.*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L.
Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse 2, you'll provide direct resident care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care. This includes monitoring and recording all aspects of care, passing medications, dressing changes and treatment, etc.

Requirements
Some of what you'll do:
- Administer medications and treatments for a wing of residents or monitor self-administered medications of residents.
- Process physician orders and assist with routine rehabilitative and maintenance care.
- Prepare, carry out, evaluate, record, and revise treatment and interdisciplinary care plans for individual residents based on personal observations and recommendations of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and/or other nurses.
- Facilitate care as directed by Nursing Care and Regulations of Health Professions and Facility Policies and Procedures.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document intake and output records.
- Perform duties as charge nurse in the absence of the RN2.

Qualifications
Required:- Current Washington state registered nurse license or unencumbered registered nurse multistate license.
- Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English.
Preferred/Desired:
- Long-term care experience.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning services and every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks.
Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
