Job Description
Summary
This volunteer role involves working one-on-one with elementary school students in grades K-5 to help them improve their reading skills through a structured library program.
Volunteers follow a provided curriculum to inspire kids to love reading and address learning gaps, committing to just two hours a week.
It's ideal for patient, empathetic individuals who enjoy working with children and supporting diverse communities, even without prior teaching experience.

Full Job Description
Hennepin County Library is looking for reading tutor volunteers to help with an exciting youth reading program! Let's Read! is continuing to grow and we need your help.Inspire elementary students to become lifelong readers and directly help in reducing disparities. Provide one-on-one literacy tutoring with youth grades K-5. We provide an easy-to-follow curriculum that includes all the materials to teach an effective lesson. No teaching experience required. A commitment of one two-hour shift per week is standard. A criminal background check and references are required.
