Job Description
Summary
This job involves repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment like trucks and cars, focusing on engines, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics to keep them running safely.
It also includes welding, handling emergencies, and keeping the workshop clean and compliant with safety rules.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on mechanical experience who is reliable, physically fit, and comfortable working in tough conditions outdoors or during bad weather.
Key Requirements
- 1.5 years of work experience in mechanical repairs on vehicles or equipment, or equivalent education like a high school automotive or diesel program
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- Obtain Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy objects
- Experience diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of welding (electrical and acetylene) for vehicle modifications
- Availability for emergency work, extended hours, or 12-hour shifts in inclement weather
