Summary

This part-time van driver role involves providing door-to-door transportation to residents in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, especially seniors and people with disabilities, while offering friendly support and social interaction.

You'll drive a county vehicle about 150 miles a day, help passengers along various paths, and work independently with flexible scheduling from early mornings to evenings.

Requirements

As a part-time Van Driver, your work will enhance the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable and courteous manner.

You will operate county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day to provide transportation service as well as social contact for our consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent persons.

This chance to work independently utilizes excellent communication skills, both person to person and via two-way radio.


Our team will rely on your willingness and patience to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths.

Ability to easily adjust in daily schedule is key for success in this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, 14-21+ hours per week
  • Transportation operates 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.


Condition of Employment:

  • No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
