The Opportunity
WSDOT is seeking a Transportation Technician 2 for a unique, hands-on, non-permanent opportunity in Olympia, WA. This role is expected to last 12 months.
In this role, you will support a variety of hydraulic engineering activities by performing semi-skilled, technical tasks under the guidance of experienced professionals.
You’ll gain practical, on-the-job experience applying engineering concepts, procedures, and tools in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
Working within WSDOT’s Hydraulics Office, you will contribute to important program areas including stormwater management, fish passage, hydrology, and hydraulic design, helping support projects that protect Washington’s infrastructure and natural resources.

Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
Professional Credentials: Basic understanding of civil engineering concepts related to stormwater, hydraulics, and hydrology, with a demonstrated interest and ability to learn and apply these principles through training, hands-on experience, or coursework.
Valid Washington State driver’s license for field investigations and travel.
