Requirements

In this position, you will oversee the inspection of materials and workmanship for construction improvement projects within Engineering District 12, which include pavement reconstruction, bridge structures, and select interchanges.

Your role will ensure that all activities adhere to the approved construction plans, standards, specifications, and contract documents.

You will manage multiple moderately complex construction projects and supervise the inspection phases of more intricate projects, ensuring they are completed professionally, efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.

Additionally, you will serve as the Inspector-In-Charge for highway construction initiatives, encompassing roadway pavement reconstruction, guiderail installation, flood control measures, and the rehabilitation and replacement of bridges.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in construction inspection, including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training.

    Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation.

    An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required non-supervisory experience; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license
