Requirements
In this position, you will implement effective engineering practices while overseeing a team of engineers and technicians tasked with ensuring that contractors and consultants adhere to DOT plans, specifications, and quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with engineers and technicians from various internal and external partners and agencies. Your engineering expertise will be essential for conducting research, preparing technical forecasts, determining systematic processes, developing mathematical calculations, interpreting scientific notations, resolving issues, and identifying new technologies to enhance project execution.
You should be well-versed in all aspects of highway engineering and construction, including stakeouts, grading, paving, drainage, guide rail, structures, and highway appurtenances such as lighting, pavement markings, erosion control, traffic control, and vegetation. During the design phase, you will review plans for constructability and conduct after-action reviews upon project completion. Additionally, you will be required to make field decisions regarding alterations to plans, quantities, methods of work, and construction completion dates as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ADHOC basis.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate speciality and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.
Post Employment Requirement:
- For the Bridges and Transportation parentheticals, successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer License issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.
