We are currently on the lookout for a dedicated Transportation Construction Inspector to join our dynamic District 12-0 team.

This role will primarily concentrate on Geo-technical Inspector Assignments, where the incumbent will assess the geological and engineering characteristics of soils and rocks encountered during core boring operations.
Responsibilities include evaluating the moisture content and density consistency of soil samples, as well as classifying these samples and determining their top and bottom elevations.
Additionally, the inspector will analyze rock core samples to identify rock types, assess rock quality designations, evaluate strength, and examine the degree of fragmentation and weathering.
Proper handling and packaging of core samples in compliance with Department specifications are essential, along with maintaining a detailed engineer's log of all core boring activities.
Furthermore, the position involves operating a nuclear gauge and conducting compaction control inspections for both state and municipal projects, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and specifications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
