In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of and the ability to interpret a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to the International Military Student Office (IMSO) to resolve complex procedural and substantive problems; Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs in support of IMSO office operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the civilian and military training programs, their objectives, policies, procedures and requirements or similar processes in parallel business and industry organizations in order to manage a comprehensive training program.

Knowledge of education and training and force development programs and policies, objectives, procedures, regulatory requirements and processes to review unit and job functions and training requirements, analyze requests and to be able to recommend approval or disapproval .
3.
Knowledge of the format, content, and uses of the military personnel records to independently process personnel transactions which present complex and unusual procedural or substantive issues or the review of completed transactions as screening nominees for schools to identify those qualified in accordance with special requirements relating to the assignment, in addition to basic regulatory requirements regarding rank, previous education or training.
4. Knowledge of and ability to use various applications related to program areas such as personnel data system. Does not require a qualified typist. 5.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: to perform a variety of technical duties in support of the base level civilian and military formal and ancillary training programs.
Also provides technical leadership to lower graded personnel in support of the training program. Duties: Manages civilian training program.
Conducts training surveys and coordinates annual screening requirements when requested by MAJCOM and career programs. Arranges and organizes the Civilian Training Committee.
Manages military technical training allocations and the selection process for no-name allocations to include Officer/Enlisted PME.
Compiles a list of eligible individuals for Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) and Squadron Officer School (SOS).
