Summary

This job involves supporting training programs for military and civilian personnel in a logistics squadron by tracking schedules, updating records, and managing online systems to ensure everyone stays current on required skills.

It also includes developing training plans and advising leaders on training needs and outcomes.

A good fit would be someone organized with experience in administrative support, comfortable using computers for data management, and able to communicate clearly in a team setting.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-4 level or equivalent, involving knowledge of training rules, procedures, and data management
  • Four years of education above high school from an accredited institution in business, secretarial, or technical fields (transcripts required)

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower at GS4 or equivalent in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience must knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures, or operations involved in the training programs sufficient to perform the full range of support assignments and resolve routine, recurring problems in the collection, maintenance, compilation, storage, and reporting of training information for students.

OR EDUCATION: Applicants must have four (4) years successfully completed education above high school.

This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicants must have a combination of experience as described in the job opportunity announcement and education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.Knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures, and regulations to perform and explain a range of clerical procedures in support of training programs and to resolve recurring problems.

2.Knowledge of procedures, requirements, and terminology related to the training program to process requests.

3.Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques that support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.

A qualified typist is not required. 4.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

SUMMARY: PRIMARY PURPOSE: to monitor, oversee, and track scheduled training for military and civilian personnel assigned to the 35th Logistics Readiness Squadron (35 LRS).

DUTIES: Develops the Logistics Readiness Squadron training plan. Provides advice and assistance to leadership concerning determinations for training and on the results of such training.

Updates scheduled and completed training. Operates the executive functions of various online automated systems
