This job involves recruiting and placing qualified candidates for positions in Air Force support squadrons, including creating strategies to find talent, building community partnerships, and organizing hiring events to meet staffing needs.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 773d Force Support Squadron located at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
As a Regular Full-Time employee, you have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Experience in Recruiting or Human Resources.
Experience interpreting and applying personnel rules based on basic laws, regulations, policies and procedures for recruitment and placement functions.
Experience utilizing recruitment tools (i.e., indeed, USA Staffing/equivalent automated recruitment system). Experience communicating recruitment strategies to resolve placement issues.
Experience utilizing outside sources for recruitment of hard to fill positions. Major Duties:
This position is assigned to the 773d Force Support Squadron (FSS) reporting to the 773d FSS Deputy Director.
The primary purpose of the position is to recruit suitable candidates for open job vacancies and hard to fill positions across the 673d and 773d Force Support Squadrons.
Recruitment Strategies: Devises strategic campaigns and guidelines for recruiting suitable candidates by collaborating with hiring managers and identifying current and future hiring needs for both FSS Squadrons.
Evaluates qualification and job requirements provided by management/hiring official according to specifications (i.e., attributes, characteristics, experience).
Prepares recruitment materials and determines appropriate methods in filling vacant positions. Responsible for meeting hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates.
Retention Strategies: Collaborates with FSS management and staff in developing retention strategies. Identifies turn-over trends with each activity and shares this information with each activity.
Schedules facility visits to routinely conduct focus group meetings to help management understand what helps retain their staff.
Leads a regularly scheduled meeting discussing recruitment and retention strategies.
Community Outreach: Builds applicant sources through research and contacting community agencies/services, colleges/high schools, employment agencies, recruiters, social media/print media.
Establishes and maintains partnerships with off base agencies and sources (i.e. Alaska Native Communities/Corporations, DOL, VA, etc).
Attracts candidates by posting recruitments on external job boards, websites and social media (i.e., State of Alaska, indeed, linked-in, etc).
Acts as a point of contact and builds influential candidate relationships during the hiring process to facilitate future referrals.
Hiring Events: Organizes on-the-spot hiring events on and off the installation. Assists candidates in applying for vacancies, screens candidate resumes and job applications.
Helps candidates with fingerprinting needs at rapid hiring events or as back up to the NAF Security Officer/HR Assistants.
NAF Summer Hire Program: Leads and supervises the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson FSS NAF summer hire program.
Coordinates with each squadron to identify seasonal NAF needs and positions needed each summer. Work with marketing to advertise the program to partners on and off the installation.
Act as a main point of contact for participants determining placement for participants with activity managers.
Monitor progress of the summer hire program and review the experience the participants are having at various points of the program.
Data Analysis: Conducts local labor market analysis as needed to understand local salary and recruiting trends.
Provide FSS leadership with analytical and well documented recruiting and retention reports. Performs other related duties as required.
