The job opportunityWe are seeking a Training Specialist to facilitate high-quality, enterprise-wide training that helps learners build the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use Workday. You will collaborate with the Training Manager and integration partners to provide guidance and recommendations, contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training materials and curriculum, and support effective training delivery across the program. Working closely with assigned learner cohorts, you will deliver consistent, accurate, and engaging learning experiences that promote successful adoption of the new system and support sustainable change across state agencies.
*This position is eligible to frequently telework the majority of the time and is typically not required to report on-site. If on-site is required, your supervisor will make every effort to notify you at least 1 week in advance, except in emergency or urgent situations. The default assigned work location of all One Washington positions – both on-site and telework-eligible positions within the State of Washington.
Requirements
One Washington (OneWA), led by the Office of Financial Management, is an enterprise-wide transformation project focused on replacing 1960s-era technology with a cloud-based Workday solution for finance, procurement, budget, HR, and payroll processes. OneWA is a long-term, yet extremely fast-paced project anticipated to fully implement all phases by 2030. The project’s core business hours are Monday through Friday, and all project positions are full-time. We offer some flexibility in schedules oriented around core business hours with prior supervisory approval. However, it is very common to work beyond the typical 40-hour workweek to meet the rigorous operational needs and business deliverables required for the go-live timelines.
What you’ll work on- Facilitate mostly virtual and potentially some in-person training sessions for enterprise ERP systems, ensuring learners understand complex technical content and can apply skills effectively in their roles.
- Support the Training Manager and integration partners by providing insights, recommendations, and feedback based on learner needs, participant input, and project timelines.
- Assist in the implementation and evaluation of training curriculum, materials, and learning resources to align with the overall ERP training strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and meets program standards, modeling OneWA’s Ways of Working such as solution-oriented collaboration, respectful communication, and shared accountability.
- Monitor and report on training delivery, attendance, learner engagement, and outcomes, partnering with analytics teams to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage training administration processes, including enrollment, scheduling, attendance tracking, credit allocation, and compliance with program standards within the Learning Management System.
- Ensure training materials and sessions meet accessibility standards and are inclusive for all learners.
- Provide guidance and support to learners during and after training, addressing questions, troubleshooting challenges, and escalating issues as needed.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve training processes, materials, and delivery methods to enhance learning outcomes and adoption across the enterprise.
- Work collaboratively within the cohort-based team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a culture of mutual respect, shared accountability, and high performance in alignment with OneWA’s mission, values, and Ways of Working principles.
Qualifications
What you need to bring
Required Qualifications:- Experience facilitating adult learning in both in-person and virtual environments, particularly for technical or enterprise systems.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating training curriculum, materials, and learning activities.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to deliver coordinated training initiatives.
- Experience analyzing learner feedback and training metrics to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Experience managing training logistics, scheduling, enrollment, and compliance to ensure consistent delivery across multiple teams or cohorts.

Desired Qualifications:- Experience developing and facilitating ERP or enterprise systems training (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with instructional design tools and learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience creating and delivering virtual instructor-led training and blended learning solutions.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and strategies for effective knowledge transfer and retention.
- Professional training certifications, such as:
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
- Association for Talent Development (ATD) Certification
- Instructional Design Certificate or equivalent
