Job Description

Summary

This job involves creating and delivering training programs for healthcare quality staff in South Carolina's public health department, including designing curricula for regulated facilities and helping new hires get settled.

Under limited supervision, responsible for the planning, designing, implementing, conducting, and coordinating training programs for Healthcare Quality.

Develops basic training curriculum for all facility types regulated by Healthcare Quality. Meets with training team on a routine basis to determine how training assignments will be divided. Responsible for participating in the inspection/survey process for all facilities regulated by Healthcare Quality.

Serves as an in-house trainer for Healthcare Quality. Responsible for various activities pre and post hire of new staff to Healthcare Quality to include various activities to ensure new hires are onboarded successfully. Performs other duties as assigned, including participating in disaster preparedness and responses. Designated as an essential employee, subject to duty and/or call on a 24-hour basis during an emergency.

Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.


Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Library Science, or Public Health, and at least two (2) years training/teaching/instructional design experience.
