Requirements

This role involves executing civil engineering tasks within the Traffic Operations Safety Section, focusing on the adherence to established principles, policies, standards, and regulations.

The primary objective is to ensure that all engineering projects are completed in a timely manner, facilitating the smooth progression from planning to implementation.

This includes conducting thorough assessments and analyses to guarantee compliance with safety protocols and operational guidelines, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of traffic management initiatives.

The position requires a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that all aspects of the projects align with regulatory requirements and contribute to the safety and efficiency of transportation systems.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Traffic Control Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position requires possession of a valid driver’s license.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
