Summary

This paid internship with the County of Riverside's Transportation Survey Division involves assisting with surveying tasks, drafting maps, and supporting infrastructure projects in a hands-on team setting.

  • Experience in CADD Drafting
  • Availability for up to 15 hours per week in-person in Riverside, California, for about 1 year

The County of Riverside's TLMA Department is currently seeking a paid intern. The intern will support the Transportation Surveyor Division.

The in-person student internship position is based in Riverside County and offers a flexible work week consisting of up to 15 hours per week, with flexibility granted around academic obligations. The selected candidate can anticipate the internship to be 1 year in length.

Requirements

Under supervision, assists and participates in the work performed by employees of a specific profession; Through participation, receive supervised work experience in a specific professional vocation, and performs other related duties as required.

The intern will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Working on Capital Improvement Projects, CADD Drafting, Research, and Records Management.
  • Working in the field as a part of a survey crew.
  • Assisting with construction staking.
  • Assisting with preliminary surveys and topographic surveys.
The intern should expect to gain hands-on experience with CADD Drafting, MicroStation and InRoads, land records research, budgeting, field surveying, leveling, construction staking, GIS map creation. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to collaborate in a team-oriented environment, enhancing their communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average: 2.5 GPA required.

Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at time of application as well as a resume.Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled/attending school at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, or a recent graduate.

Areas of Study: Engineering or similar, Civil Engineering, Geospatial, Geomatics Engineering

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Land Surveying class
  • Experience in CADD Drafting
