Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading engineering or scientific projects in naval research, focusing on managing large software programs for spectrum warfare systems to ensure they're delivered on time and within budget.

Full Job Description

You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Research & Development Group, Spectrum Warfare Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13) or pay band (DP-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist.

Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Leading or managing technical programs; (2) Estimating, budgeting, executing, and managing a multi-year, multi-million-dollar program(s); and (3) Maintaining system safety responsibilities.

  • You will estimate, budget, execute, and manage a multi-year, multi-million-dollar Software Configuration Sets (SCS) program(s) while delivering on time, within cost and with the required functionality and capability.
  • You will establish, maintain and publish the CIDD SCS schedule, optimizing the effectiveness of the SCS development activities.
  • You will develop a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) describing the plan for SCS development.
  • You will coordinate early and often with the Solution Manager, sharing ART and Agile constructions to populate the enterprise portfolio roadmap.
  • You will establish and maintain software branching strategy and merge plan for the SCS, communicating this strategy across the enterprise.
