THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS TECHNICIAN EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. The National Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.

Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training in the use of common hand tools to make mechanical repairs.

Experience removing and installing aircraft parts, components, and accessories with detailed guidance.

Experience in following detailed instructions in making routine, reoccurring repairs and modifications to aircraft parts, subassemblies, and components, e.g., such as jacking and leveling aircraft, installing, and adjusting engines, landing gear assemblies, instrument panels, and flight control systems.

Major Duties:

Position Description #D1063000 POSITION DUTIES: This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF).

The AASF provides Aviation Unit Maintenance (AVUM), Aviation Intermediate Maintenance (AVIM), and aviation maintenance training for supported units.

The purpose of this position is to act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.

Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and projection of maintenance requirements to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness.

MAJOR DUTIES: 1. Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft.

Performs work in complex conditions under time and/or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations. 2.

Ensures Unit Level Logistics-Aviation (ULLS-A) and other aircraft documentation accurately reflects status and airworthiness of assigned aircraft. 3.

Clears Red X status symbols on aircraft forms for work performed by others. 4.

Plans, develops and conducts proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and supported unit personnel. 5.

Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and support exercises. 6.

Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations.
