Requirements

In this role, you will play an important part in enriching the daily lives of residents by leading thoughtfully planned activity sessions designed to support their physical, cognitive, and social well-being. Working under the guidance of the Therapeutic Recreational Services team, you will help create engaging, meaningful experiences that encourage participation, stimulate abilities, and foster connection among the veterans at the Southeastern Veterans Center. Your work will contribute to an environment where residents feel supported, valued, and motivated to reach their highest potential through purposeful recreational programming.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday; OFF Sunday and Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will requires a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
