Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - OC/PACIFIC.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.

Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.

OR Qualifying Experience: For the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience with WAN infrastructure, DODIN and/or DISN transmission media/networks, telecommunications, Optical Transport Systems, QA systems testing and trend analysis, as well as experience with circulars, instructions, standards, providing technical advice to leadership, leading small teams to conduct QA activities and the ability to drive government vehicles to locations within S.

Korea in the performance of their duties. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Subject matter expert and leadership advisor in WAN infrastructure, DODIN/DISN networks, IP/MPLS, Optical Transport Systems, and supporting telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Serves as QA lead providing technical expertise on matters regarding the DISN within Korea. Leads a highly effective QA evaluation program, conducts trend analysis, assistance visits to customers, and circuit de/commissioning actions.
  • Possess or achieve DISA QA certifications within 15 months of appointment in areas such as Team Chief; Node Site Coordinator; Evaluator of Tech Control Facility; Power; Environmental; Grounding, Bonding and Shielding; Military SATCOM; and DRSN.
  • Manages projects and support tasks related to the planning, deployment, installation, provisioning, support, and maintenance of DISN infrastructure and enterprise services.
  • Coordinates cybersecurity tools to protect the DoDIN. Provides direct operational support for cyber incident handling, tracks incidents to resolution, and sources engineering and training for mission partners.
