Do you possess a strong technical background in telecommunications and a commitment to service excellence in high-pressure environments? The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is in search of a dynamic Telecommunications Administrator to enhance our vital communication infrastructure. In this role, you will manage and facilitate the deployment of a multi-vendor statewide Next Generation 911 Call Handling Equipment Solutions. Your specialized knowledge will be instrumental in ensuring our technology adapts to the changing requirements of our emergency service teams, ultimately safeguarding the well-being of our community.
Requirements
In this position, you will be instrumental in the successful implementation of a statewide multi-vendor next generation 911 (NG911) call handling equipment (CHE) solution. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and approving vendor plans related to implementation, migration, training, and maintenance, ensuring a smooth integration of the intricate NG911 CHE services, NG911 core technologies, and the emergency services internet protocol network (ESInet). You will act as the subject matter expert for NG911 CHE, offering support to county public safety answering points (PSAPs) during the transition and advocating for their technological needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure that future NG911 technology initiatives are in line with the statewide CHE solutions, while also overseeing the management of the NG911 services contract.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- FREE on-site parking
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of a training period.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of technical experience in the operation and maintenance of a Local Area Network (LAN) that included one year of responsibility for installing, updating, and maintaining a network operating system and one year of experience supporting the hardware and software that provides connectivity with other networks and/or platforms; or
- Five years of voice or data telecommunications experience that included: two years of system design or configuration, one year of supervisory responsibility; and two years of general telecommunications experience that involved: technical management of systems for commercial or governmental applications or technical work in the acquisition, installation, repair, or maintenance of commercial or governmental systems; or
- One year as a Telecommunications Specialist 2 or a Telecommunications Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of technical experience in the operation and maintenance of a Local Area Network (LAN) that included one year of responsibility for installing, updating, and maintaining a network operating system and one year of experience supporting the hardware and software that provides connectivity with other networks and/or platforms; and an Associate's Degree in Microcomputer Technology, or other closely related field.
- Post high school training in telecommunications technology; data communications; or electronics with emphasis in telecommunications technology or closely related field may be substituted for the general telecommunications experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.
