Summary

This job involves leading test and evaluation projects for Navy combat and weapon systems, such as those on ships, to ensure they work safely and effectively.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the TEST ENGINEERING AND INTEGRATION DIVISION, COMBAT SYSTEMS TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading Navy Combat/Weapon system level Test & Evaluation projects; leading teams; partnering and collaborating with others; and developing others.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will lead Test and Evaluation projects and programs, to include (but not limited to) Developmental Test and Evaluation, Operation Test and Evaluation, and Combat System Ship Qualification Testing (CSSQT).
  • You will serve as the Test and Evaluation Lead for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Aegis, Directed Energy, DOG 1000, and other related systems and programs.
  • You will provide technical direction and coordination in support of testing during all phases of the Acquisition cycle.
  • You will provide oversight and direction on all technical reviews, such as Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Test and Evaluation Readiness Reviews, and Program Reviews.
  • You will develop and review system requirements, participate in system integration and validation, and influence in-service updates.
  • You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining engineering practices within the Divisions that result in safe, effective and affordable.
  • You will provide oversight and direction on all Training Qualification Standards for the Division engineers and technicians.
  • You will maintain professional relationships with key customers and stakeholders in your core business lines and manage customer satisfaction: solicit and respond to feedback often, in a regular and timely manner.
  • You will partner with other test and evaluation leads, system engineers, division and branch managers, engineers, logisticians and technicians to work effectively and to improve processes.
