Full Job Description
The Technical Criminal Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the District Clerk’s Office including supervising, training, and monitoring workflow of the daily operations of the criminal file desk, indictments, bond forfeitures, expunctions, seizures, new cases filed and imaging while ensuring accurate, professional and expeditious service to the courts, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and public. Provides computer training and addresses problems with computers and scanners as they arise. Responsible for building, correcting and adjusting costs in TechShare Court to ensure information is accurate in the system. Responsible for processing parolees’ and inmates’ trusts, notifying the individuals of costs assessed and allocating a payment plan. Expeditiously verifies payment plan applications for defendants being placed on probation to collect court costs (SB 1863) due to OCA requirements.

- Supervises, trains, and monitors the Criminal File Desk, Indictments, Bond Forfeiture, Expunctions, Seizures, Felony Intake and Imaging staff. Prioritizes daily workflow for each section, reassigning section personnel as necessary.
- Ensures that all new cases filed are accurate and that the information is correct in the system before distributing files to courts.
- Assumes the duties of the Assistant Manager or Manager in their absence.
- Provides computer training on new programs and amendments in TechShare Court for Criminal Section Administrative, Associate, File Desk, and Bond Forfeiture Clerks.
- Interacts daily with attorneys, bondsmen, public, private process servers, runners and the general public to access case information, answering questions and directing them to the proper departments on a daily basis.
- Assists with screening and interviewing new applicants.
- Responsible for providing input to management for completion of annual performance reviews.
- Corrects and edits all errors in TechShare Court
- Researches new technologies that will provide a more cost effective judicial system and increase efficiency.
- Verifies SB 1863 payment plan applications and sets up paymentplans for approximately 350 – 400 probationers monthly.
- Stays abreast of current laws and revisions on new legislation that impact felony collections.
- Understands and refers to the Criminal Code of Procedures book.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures, maintains collection database, develops training methods, and recommends improvements to enhance revenue collection.
- Communicates with Criminal Judges, Law Enforcement agencies, Bondsmen, and other Countydepartments to resolve problems.
- Researches, removes and changes data from the database from granted expunged orders, paying close attention to the specifics of the order.
- Keeps abreast of changes in Civil Service rules and stays current with any policy modifications made by the District Clerk to keep employees informed.
- Processes, collects and sets up payment plans for parolees newly released from the Texas Correctional Institution of Criminal Justice.
- Adjusts, corrects, and builds court costs, fines and attorney fees in the Justice Information Management Systems.
- Checks monthly reports for parole inquiries so that a true accounts receivable is generated if any queries are requested.
- Researches inmate trust accounts to ensure TechShare Court reflects the correct cost amount along with fines and attorney fees.
- Verifies and reviews all credit card receipts and daily credit card processing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
- Five years of experience required, including one year as an associate clerk and four years of related experience (such as technical computer or accounting work). This time may be concurrent.
