The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of State Training School (STS) is seeking a Switchboard Operator/Receptionist to join our team!
This is a full-time position scheduled Friday - Monday, 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. This position may be offered occasional overtime.
The Switchboard Operator/Receptionist has no direct contact with students.
The basic function of this position is to operate as the complete communication command post for security, movement, emergencies, and visitors.
This position responds to all calls for assistance by relaying the appropriate information in a timely fashion and answering all incoming phone calls.
In addition, the Switchboard Operator/Receptionist will direct traffic and visitors to their desired locations.
Appropriate candidates are reliable, can multitask under pressure, are able to maintain composure, and can effectively prioritize calls and actions.
Excellent candidates also have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

STS offers a holistic social, behavioral, psychiatric, academic, and vocational program that utilizes evidence-based practices to provide a secure setting, rooted in treatment, for males ages 12 to 18 years old who have been adjudicated delinquent.
