Requirements
In this position, you will expertly operate, adjust, calibrate, and maintain a variety of surveying instruments and equipment essential for conducting necessary surveying tasks. The equipment you will handle includes electronic data collectors, total station instruments, GNSS receivers, and both auto and digital levels, along with software applications designed for data collection and analysis. Additionally, you will utilize programs such as NGS online OPUS and PennDOT-approved processing applications, including CAD, sUAS Digital Photogrammetry, and terrestrial scanning point cloud rendering.
You will employ the aforementioned tools and software to establish horizontal and vertical control networks, executing various surveys as requested by the PennDOT Design, Construction, and Maintenance Divisions. This work is crucial for delivering products that meet specific survey requests. Furthermore, you will operate computers using CAD and other software applications to generate deliverables, including survey data point files, CAD drawing files, surface model files, and alignment files.
Your responsibilities will also involve reading, interpreting, and verifying the accuracy of roadway, bridge, and right-of-way plans, as well as property boundary maps and deeds, along with any additional documentation that supports the project. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that all surveying activities are conducted with precision and reliability, ultimately contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
- One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position
requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
