Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to oversee repairs and maintenance on naval ships, including planning, inspecting work, and ensuring quality during urgent or travel-based fixes.

It's based in Singapore and focuses on managing contracts for U.S. Navy vessels.

A good fit would be someone with engineering experience in ship repairs, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle on-site inspections in a fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent in engineering technical planning, estimating, specification preparation, ship inspections, quality assurance, and administration of voyage or emergent ship repair contracts
  • Experience providing industrial, engineering, technical, and repair contracting services for naval ships and craft
  • Ability to execute contracted voyage and emergent maintenance/repairs with contractor oversight and quality assurance
  • Supervisory skills in engineering planning, estimating, specifications preparation, ship inspection, contract QA, and ship repair contract administration
  • Proficiency in making work and travel assignments, determining on-site repair oversight needs, and providing repair execution status updates
  • Relevant paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work, that builds competencies in marine surveying and naval operations

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MARINE SURVEYOR in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS ofSRF DETACHMENT SINGAPORE .

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the gs-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing engineering technical planning, estimating, specification preparation, ship inspections, quality assurance (QA) and administration of voyage and emergent ship repair contracts.

  • You will provide industrial, engineering, technical and repair contracting services for voyage repairs, emergent repairs and maintenance of naval ships and craft.
  • You will execute contracted voyage and emergent maintenance/repairs and provide contractor oversight and Quality Assurance (QA) of contracted repairs.
  • You will responsible for supervising engineering planning, estimating, specifications preparation, ship inspection, contract QA, and the administration of ship repair contracts.
  • You will make work and travel assignments, determine if on-site repair Marine Surveyor oversight is required, and provide repair execution status for repairs in progress.
