Eastern Time on 03/25/2026 . To qualify for the position of Survey Technician, at GS-0303-6, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-06, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service.
Experience for this position includes: checking, reviewing, and editing incoming questionnaires for completeness and accuracy and identifying questionable responses; conducting telephone interviews on problem cases and recording information in a clear, concise manner; developing and streamlining methods of operation for office automation support such as: installing programs, creating data fields to track data, editing and preparing reports including graphs and charts, and establishing procedures; and troubleshooting hardware problems with laptop or personal computers.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
