This job involves leading a team to manage budgets, personnel, and contracts for a cyber defense unit in the Department of Defense, including creating long-term plans and advising senior leaders on resource use.
It's a supervisory role focused on ensuring efficient spending and operations in a high-stakes cyber mission.
A good fit would be someone with strong experience in financial planning and team leadership, especially in government or military settings.
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.
It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).
Please Note: This announcement is open to current Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) employees only. You MUST provide a recent SF-50 showing your are currently employed within the DCDC.
You will render an ineligible rating if you do not provide the SF-50 showing that you are employed within the DCDC.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
Qualifying experience is defined as: Experience developing long-term financial or personnel plans; OR directing a budget cycle through formulation, presentation, or execution; OR analyzing resource requirements to advise leadership; OR supervising a team responsible for resource management functions.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
