Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team as a supervisory electronics technician in the Navy, focusing on providing expert technical support for ship maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, especially for combat systems.

You'll act as a key advisor and liaison to resolve complex issues on ships and coordinate with various commands.

Key Requirements

  • Capability to prepare presentations, reports, letters, and communications for Navy commands and agencies

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Maintenance and Engineering Department (N43) of NAVSURFPAC READSUPGRU.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical support for shipboard functional problems, ship repair, maintenance and modernization to help determine repair/maintenance availability strategies.

  • You will provides highly skilled technical support and oversight services for assigned Class Maintenance Team ship class(s).
  • You will serve as the Class Maintenance Team Combat Systems technical Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • You will be the liaison between senior commands, maintenance teams, and shipboard personnel to provide resolutions to complex technical issues.
  • You will apply theoretical engineering methodology in analysis and resolution of problems encountered in assignments.
  • You will initiate, monitor, and track Technical Assists and other TA-1/2/3 level work accomplished via ships Current Ship’s Maintenance Project (CSMP).
  • You will conduct investigations for resolution of technical problems.
  • You will makes presentations, authors letters, messages, reports, and memoranda, as appropriate, to NAVSEA Commands, TYCOMs, ships Commanding Officers (COs), Naval activities and other interested agencies.
