The Management and Planning Division (M&P) advises and supports the OIG in the following areas: administrative and fiscal policy, executive resources, training, finance, quality assurance, procurement, facilities, human resources, security, and records management.
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or above the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector, or the equivalent in the private sector.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to work of the position to be filled and has equipped and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
For this position your specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing and planning support services functions for an organization in the areas of coordination of facilities and maintenance projects, telecommunications and preparing statistical analysis.
Identifying complex support services program issues and implementing procedural changes to improve program area.
Drafting charts, spreadsheets, and reports for facility operations; and Scheduling projects of building services, alterations, repairs and maintenance.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).

Major Duties:
As a Support Services Specialist at the GS-0342-12 you will be responsible for, but not limited to: Providing assistance to supervisor and staff members in a variety of functions within support services including setting up meetings and conferences, management of accountable personal property.
Planning and performing a variety of administrative duties such as coordination of facilities and maintenance projects, telecommunications; gathering, analyzing and preparing statistical and budget analyses, and evaluation of policies to revise or update OIG directives.
Participating in the interpretation of administrative policies and procedures to assist supervisor and staff in working out solutions and determining appropriate courses of action in difficult situations, and in problem involving interagency and other external relationships.
Establishing and maintains effective working relationships with managers and personnel throughout the agency and other agencies within the Department, and with the private sector.
Identifying priorities, evaluates alternatives, and provides recommendations to improve the programs based on findings.
