Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling supply requests for the U.S. Marine Corps by receiving, checking, and processing orders, managing records, and using computer systems to track items and purchases.

It's a support role in a maintenance center, possibly in Japan where medical care is limited.

A good fit would be someone with experience in inventory or logistics who is detail-oriented and comfortable with government purchasing rules.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the MARINE DEPOT MAINTENANCE COMMAND of MAINTENANCE CENTER ALBANY. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide assistance in receiving, examining, and verifying incoming supply requests to determine course of action; process supply requirements; process local purchases via the GCPC program; utilize automated supply applications (e.g.

GCSSMC, U.S. Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG), Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR), Regional Hazardous Inventory Control System (RHICS).

  • You will be receiving, examining, and verifying all incoming supply requests to determine course of action for processing; i.e. Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), NAVSUP FORM 1250, Government Commercial Purchase card (GCPC).
  • You will maintain filing system for all supply records to include Supply System requirements, local purchases, open market contracts and other files as required or directed.
  • You will update databases with current and valid information required for trend analysis and operational requirements.
  • You will validate and allocate GCPC purchases via Citi-Bank at the end of each month’s billing cycle.
  • You will maintain database monitoring outstanding requirements and initiating follow-ups consistent with policies.
