Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting inventory on medical/non-medical supplies; coordinating purchase requests with customers in a healthcare related environment; and utilizing an automated supply system to maintain supply records.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as supply chain management or logistics.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Perform continuous analysis to determine current and future supply requirements of customers at MTF.
  • Study policies and other procedures to determine effect on supply requirements, and makes pertinent recommendations.
  • Assure accuracy of supply and financial files and records.
  • Conduct continuous stock position analysis and review of stock items.
  • Review monthly and quarterly financial transactions, sales and inventory, dues-in and dues-out to assure proper control of inventory.
  • Determine when items are in excess and initiates reporting actions on items to appropriate level within the supply system.
  • Assure rotation of items into supply channels in order to maintain currency on short-life items by continual review of reserve stock within the category of items managed.
