About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ordering medical supplies, developing reports, and maintaining adequate stock.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Review changes in demand, delivery schedules, changes in customer demand patterns and new equipment and supplies that create new supply requirements.
  • Provide advice and assistance to customers on matters pertaining to consumption rates and overall logistical support.
  • Ensure that all expired, damaged, or hazardous medical items are properly removed from stock immediately and disposed of in a proper manner.
  • Use a Hand Held Terminal (HHT) in order to inventory supplies.
  • Order, receive, and perform quality control actions of the medical and non-medical supplies/inventory.
  • Call in work orders to Medical Maintenance and Facilities Management, and follows-up as required.
  • Review recurring logistical reports to ensure accuracy of information and notifies the Logistics Area Manager (LAM) of system problems.
  • Utilize computer system in order to update and retrieve data.
