This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Utilize logistic automated systems and a combination of tasks concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and replenishing expendable and durable medical supplies for various departments, clinics, and external customers
  • Ensure medical, non-medical supplies and equipment are ordered through the appropriate channels using the most effective and expeditious manner.
  • Initiate orders and address supply for items in out-of-stock situations, emergency one-time orders and special requests.
  • Review all orders automatically placed by the automated system and frequently makes adjustments as required utilizing knowledge of supply and demand of each individual item stocked
  • Review transaction registers reflecting demand history, acquisition, excesses, warehouse refusals, discrepancies and other actions to determine effect on previous and current transactions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory control. Creates and submits requests consisting of inventory required for next day delivery. Prepares, generates and reviews reports taking appropriate action
