About the Position: This position is located at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth Virginia.

Incumbent will serve as a Supply Technician and perform a variety of Supply Technician duties including supply monitoring and ordering, equipment monitoring, maintenance and disposal, and facilities review and repair requests within a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) or Dental Clinic.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring shipments of medical supplies, coordinating medical equipment purchase requests and repairs, and maintaining records to ensure regulatory compliance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Maintain complete inventory management of all items necessary to supply the clinic.
  • Maintain current purchasing information and catalogs.
  • Review facilities conditions and receive reports of facility malfunctions or damages.
  • Perform a combination of task concerned with receipting, storage issues and replenishment of a wide variety of supplies.
  • Distribute received items expeditiously and facilitates proper storage/usage.
  • Assist staff in the proper disposal of expired, damaged, or unnecessary supplies.
