Summary

About the Position: This position is located at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth Virginia.

Incumbent will serve as a Supply Technician and perform a variety of Supply Technician duties including Incorporating the end-to-end management of goods, covering procurement, inventory, warehousing, and transportation to ensure efficient delivery within a Military Treatment Facility (MTF).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes reviewing stock levels of medical supplies, performing monthly purchase card reconciliations and maintaining records to ensure regulatory compliance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

Major Duties:

  • Maintain accountability of approximately 1000 standard and non-standard medical and non-medical items.
  • Enter purchase requests into the automated Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support and LogiCole systems for the department and subordinate clinics.
  • Coordinate with requestors and vendors to assess supply urgency.
  • Perform a combination of task concerned with receipting, storage issues and replenishment of a wide variety of supplies.
  • Use a government purchase card (GPC) to make purchases and payments for supplies and services.
  • Distribute received items expeditiously and facilitates proper storage/usage.
