In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, Supply Technician, Series 2005.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of standard supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to a supply function.
Knowledge of CE supply requirements to review requisitions, supporting documents, acceptable substitutions, available sources and most efficient and cost-effective method of obtaining items.
Knowledge of automated federal stock systems and databases, catalogs, vendors and manufactures to help isolate the exact equipment part or material that is needed.
Knowledge of a body of standardized purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures.
OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of standard supply regulations, policies, and procedures,.
Ability to research, compile, and analyze supply information and data; receive, screen, review, verify, and maintain supply document; and resolve discrepancies or problems.
Knowledge of data entry and the operation of automated supply system in order to input and maintain the correct information on actions taken pertaining to material transactions and purchased.
A qualified typist is not required. Knowledge of a body of standardized purchasing regulations, policies, and procedures; established market sources; and common business practices to make purchases.
Knowledge of material costs to evaluate price reasonableness. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Performs thorough review of purchase requests for specialized and standardized supplies and equipment in terms of adequacy, compliance with administrative requirements, and certification of funds.
Maintains property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files.
Maintains information of funds availability status for serviced activities. Determines procurement source and method.
Solicits and evaluates oral and/or written quotations in terms of item, price (based on previous history), discount, delivery, and transportation fees. Performs general clerical support work.
