About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located at Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Logistics, Honolulu Hawaii.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing and supporting supply chain operations involving Point-of-Use (POU) medication automation systems to ensure accurate inventory control, data integrity, and efficient distribution of medical supplies and medication.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Management, Financial Management, and/or Operations Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Specialist for the Point-of-Use (POU) supply system, performing a wide variety of supply and procurement program analysis and maintenance functions.
  • Conduct surveys and studies of supply and procurement operations to determine the proper application of the system within the supply management system and ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the management of all medical supplies maintained in the POU cabinets as it pertains to stocking, restocking, accountability, and quality control.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and assistance with supply operations to staff and members of the healthcare team, including conducting training and issuing user manuals.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot problems between the POU system and other information systems to maintain data integrity.
  • Responsible for the overall administrative and technical management and support of the Point-of-Use (POU) automation system related to supplies for the Department of Logistics.
