Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing supply operations or programs; managing medical supply programs; and assessing supply or customer requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as Accountable Officer, directing medical supply operations.
  • Manage stock, budgets, and policies for efficient supply flow.
  • Manage medical materiel programs like Prime Vendor and Standardization; planning and evaluation to ensure mission readiness.
  • Monitor supply accounts and back-orders using Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS).
  • Analyze usage, forecasts stock and provide updates to resolve supply chain issues.
  • Manage materiel quality control, acting on recall notices, ensuring proper storage, disposal of unserviceable items, and follow all QC procedures.
