About the Position: Serves as the Chief of the International Movement Support Division on the staff of the Army Transportation Command (ARTRANS) located at Scott AFB, IL.

The incumbent reports directly to the Chief of Movement Support while supporting the ARTRANS Commanding General in the accomplishment of the command's mission.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing the requirements development of complex federal contracts for international transportation and logistics services within a DOD supply chain context, 2) Leading teams by providing strategic planning, establishing work priorities, and evaluating operational effectiveness, and 3) Engaging with diverse stakeholders across a joint enterprise to drive strategic logistics and distribution initiatives, ensuring consensus and operational alignment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Program Management Transportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Chief of the International Movement Support Division.
  • Performs the full range of supervisory duties and responsibilities as a second-level supervisor.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and executing and international transportation requirements.
  • Leads and participates in multi-functional teams involving strategic planning, supply chain distribution management, and transportation/logistics management.
  • Exercises executive responsibilities including managing strategic requirements of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) contracts to support Department of Defense (DOD) customers with transportation and logistics services.
  • Leads teams responsible for functional contract management to include requirements development, validation, and execution transportation solutions to meet ARTRANS objectives.
  • Coordinates across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) in order to effectively manage the lifecycle of international transportation.
  • Briefs the ARTRANS Commander regularly on the status of international transportation contracts.
  • Develops traffic management strategies and FAR contract requirements to execute the ARTRANS mission in support of its customers.
  • Provides leadership to the respective branches to acquire transportation, distribution, and operations support services.
