Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage supplies and equipment for the U.S.

Marine Corps at a base in Japan, including planning budgets, ordering materials, and solving supply issues across multiple locations.

It's ideal for someone with experience in logistics or inventory who can supervise military and civilian staff in a fast-paced, international setting.

Note that medical and dental care is very limited there, so it's best for adaptable individuals comfortable with overseas assignments.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or equivalent, including controlling and coordinating materials at dispersed locations
  • Skills in determining supply requirements, positioning/repositioning items, and initiating procurement
  • Experience in storage, inventory management, and providing life cycle support for equipment

You will serve as a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist in the G-4 DIVISION ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: controlling and coordinating material at widely dispersed operational locations; determining requirements, positioning/repositioning items, initiating procurement, storage and/or inventory management, and providing life cycle supply/program support for assigned equipment.

  • You will analyze requirements and approve budget estimates of funds required, providing specific data and justification for the budget process.
  • You will serve as supply coordinator, review and/or revise complex supply determinations and decisions which have a significant impact on a broad spectrum of issues.
  • You will initiate timely procurement of items characterized by long or fluctuating procurement lead time where there is difficulty in obtaining materials
  • You will serve as the focal point for the coordination of material support and the resolution of problems.
  • You will be responsible for all personnel actions regarding determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline, and awards for workforce consisting of US military, civilian, and foreign national personnel.
